Rice Chinese restaurant with lots of veggie/vegan options. Great tofu dishes. ——————— Kosta's Greek restaurant; very accomodating to vegan diners. Suggested dishes include the excellent hummus, vegetarian Dolmades (ask for it without the lemon sauce), Greek salad, Portabello mushroom appetizer, and the grilled pita bread (ask for these dishes without cheese). The lemon potatoes have chicken stock but can be ordered in advanced without the stock. Casual atmosphere. ——————— Baja

Sublime's full menu of completely vegan dishes, many of which are organic, includes contemporary vegan versions of classic omnivore staples, like quiche, ravioli or enchiladas, as well as unique dishes you won't find anywhere else. Customer favorites include the cauliflower "frito misto" appetizer and the "Sublime Picatta" main dish, a seitan cutlet in a lemon caper sauce, with braised spinach and mashed potatoes. Sublime also has a wide selection of speciality drinks. And save room for dessert! Closed Mondays. ——————— Pizza
Fusion The environmental focus of this pizza restaurant is apparent in its organic ingredients, earth-friendly packaging and utensils and its hybrid delivery vehicles. Menu includes a "Very Vegan" pizza, topped with 100% non-dairy mozzarella cheese alternative. Substitute vegan soy cheese on any other pizza. Sauce and dough for all pizzas is vegan (gluten-free crust contains eggs). Also veggie wraps and sandwiches, excellent salads and vegan brownies! ——————— Christina

Not exclusively vegetarian. ——————— Skyline Chili A good place to get a hot bowl of vegetarian black beans and rice, or a vegetarian black bean burrito. Or for more adventurous tastes, try the black bean chili over a plate of spaghetti, or on top of a steamed potato. ——————— Kung Fu Tea Cafe Small cafe serving tea, all-fruit smoothies, green smoothies and boba/bubble tea. A varied selection of natural juice blends is also available. Large portions and affordable. Located just west of State Road 7, on the south side of Lauderhill Mall, across from the bus terminal. ——————— Pita 'N More Recommended for excellent falafel at a good price. Closed Saturday. ——————— Fresh Brothers Did you say vegan pizza? We're happy to add Fresh Brothers to the growing list of pizza restaurants that offer vegan cheese. Located in the Coral Creek Publix shopping center. ——————— Falafel
Bistro & Wine Bar Mediterranean favorites– falafel and roasted eggplant or hummus-stuffed pitas– and new tastes (try the gourmet falafel platter with your choice of falafel balls made with cranberries, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts or sesame seeds). Traditional salads and soups. Exit 14 off the Sawgrass Expy. ——————— The Pita Pit See above review. ——————— Woodlands You can find popular dishes such as chana masala or aloo gobi at Woodlands, but we recommend digging deeper into the menu and trying one of the South Indian favorites like dosa (large rolled-up crepes stuffed with vegetables)—the menu at Woodlands has 15 varieties—or unique specialties like Gobi Manchurian (battered cauliflower in a garlic/ginger/soy sauce). Woodlands is completely vegetarian and they are happy to point out which dishes are vegan. Open daily; terrific lunch buffet. ——————— Hiro's
Sushi Express ——————— Green Wave Cafe Organic, raw vegan cafe. All dishes homemade daily. The menu at Green Wave Cafe features many creative dishes, such as a raw burrito wrap, pizza and Pad Thai. The Vegan Cheese Burger is popular, but we preferred the Lettuce Boat Tacos (homemade guacamole and salsa, along with a rich pate and Mexican cheese sauce). Entrees come with a soup or salad. Make sure to try the desserts! Visit their website for details of classes and special events. Located in the Plantation Village shopping center, just west of the Turnpike. Open for lunch and dinner. Cafe The front of Udipi’s menu states, “No cruelty is involved in preparation of your superb meal.” We recommend the Potato Bonda appetizer, a delicious dumpling in chickpea batter. For example, although the menu states the food is "100% Vegetarian," they do serve fish. ——————— The Yard House The Yard House is a popular place to go for drinks (they promise the "world's largest selection of draft beer"), but you might think that there is nothing on the menu for vegans to eat. Think again!
